I failed the bar and did not find Barbri or PMBR helpful. Barbri rushes you through all the topics you have to learn for the bar and does not give you enough time to absorb the material before it gives you more assignments to do.
The second time I took the NY bar I hired a tutor, Drew Novins, and was able to pass the NJ and NY bar. He walks you through the MBE with tricks to answer the questions correctly and helps you with your essays. He also helps you when you are not being tutored by asking you questions and/or fears about the bar, like timing yourself, how much time you should take to study, when to take a break etc. He helped me. He can help you. I really recommend him.(you can probably find him by searching the web for Andrew Novins or Drew Novins) Good luck to you all taking the bar.
I agree!!! Drew Novins is the way to go. I also took the typical bar review courses, and was unsuccessful with the NY Bar. I then hired Drew, and everything came into place. Not only are his MBE techniques stellar, his essay "tricks" are key as well. So, whatever section of the Bar is your "weakness", he is the man. Good luck to all!!!
